Suskind Film Update #4~ February 5, 2006
Hello! ~
Tim and I are preparing to return to Amsterdam on February 9th!
We have had a wonderful response for our film screening on February 12th and we anticipate an overflow
crowd at de Uitkijk Theater on the Leidseplein, as well as at the reception at deBalie afterwards.
We are using a lay-over in London to meet with people at the London Jewish Cultural Center and to visit
the London Holocaust Museum; those two organizations are talking about hosting a joint screening in London
in the fall. Special thanks to Janet Langdon for arranging this and to Midge and Tim Eliassen for introducing
us to Janet!
Our Christmas visit to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum was fascinating and has led us to
possible screenings at two different Jewish Museums in New York City. Stay tuned.
We have enjoyed three screenings in Massachusetts in the past weeks, one for the student body at Concord
Academy, one at the Vanderpol’s home in Newton, and one at the Jewish Community Day School in Watertown.
We were delighted that Helen and Fred Lion traveled from Amsterdam to be the special guests at the JCDS
event – their grandchildren attend the school and their son Rudie is President of the parents’ group.
We have scheduled several more screenings and are in conversation with a number of schools, temples and organizations.
The spring calendar is looking very full!
We have sold $1,700.00 worth of DVDs so far, and will give both our marketing plan and our fundraising
campaign a big push when we return from Holland.
We are also setting up a photo gallery on the website so that we can post photos from the Amsterdam event
when we return. I’ll let you know when they’re up and ready.
Warm regards,
Karen & Tim |
